Cancer-fighting foods are available everywhere you turn. They can help heal your body no matter what stage you’re in. Whether you are going through treatment, in remission, or being proactive with prevention.

There are so many foods; in fact, it would be overwhelming for us to try and include all of them in 1 article. Instead, we are going to break it down into a series of articles by a food group.

# 1.  Blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries all contain anthocyanins, a kind of flavonoid. Due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-carcinogenic effects, anthocyanins have been linked to reducing the risk of various types of cancer.

Eat raw, or blend into a nutrient-dense smoothie.

#2.  Lemons are an excellent way to alkalize your body. Research suggests that cancer cells thrive in an acidic environment but not in an alkaline one. Fruits and veggies are high alkaline foods, and lemons are at the top of the list. They are also low carb, help with nutrient absorption, and support natural detoxification.

Add lemon juice to your water and green tea.

#3. Goji berries are referred to as a superfood from their high levels of a specific category of antioxidants called carotenoids. These compounds are extensively explored and have gained a credibility for inhibiting tumor growth, combating cancer cells, and decreasing inflammation.

They are a great addition to homemade granola bars, trail mixes, and cereal.

#4 Tomatoes are in the fruit family, although they taste more like a vegetable. They contain a natural chemical called lycopene, which is also a carotenoid and helps to protect against cellular damage.

Varieties such as San Marzano tomatoes, cherry tomatoes have higher levels than others. Dr. William Li suggests cooking them in olive oil for increased absorption of lycopene.

#5 Kiwis have more vitamin c than oranges. It is essential to keep your immune system strong and healthy, and vitamin c is one of the easiest ways to it. Research is still being conducted on high doses of vitamin c intravenously, but showing much promise as a future treatment and boosting the effectiveness of current methods of treatment.


Eating anywhere from 1-3 per day can help you to receive a sufficient amount of kiwi fruit benefits.

All in all, most fruits will provide some level of cancer-fighting benefits. I created this list to give you some diversity in anti-cancer properties to cover multiple health-enhancing categories.
